What to Expect

REAL PEOPLE…EXPERIENCING A REAL GOD…IN A REAL WAY

At Gateway of Hope we take the Bible literally when it says, “Whosoever will, let him come.” (Rev 22:17) Therefore at Gateway you will find people of every ethnic background, socioeconomic group, family status and sexual orientation (and any other classification you can think of) worshiping God all under the same roof.

At Gateway of Hope we believe that the Bible is the all sufficient rule of faith and conduct for believers. Therefore you can expect to hear messages which are based on the Bible, that will encourage, challenge, and empower you in your every day walk with God, and in life in general.

Our worship style is best described as charismatic / Pentecostal free. Many people don’t understand this format of worship because they are used to attending churches where the style of worship is uniform and expected of everyone in the service. Free worship however is worship under the direction of the Holy Spirit. During our worship services we lift our voices in praise, raise our hands in honor and respect and make a joyful noise unto the Lord. The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people.

If you weren’t raised in a worship style such as this, don’t worry, many of us were not either, and we will never “force” anyone to worship in any way that they do not feel comfortable with. Whether you are loud or quiet, demonstrative or stoic, extroverted or introverted, at Gateway of Hope, you have the liberty and freedom to worship God in the way which you experience Him the best.

Here are Biblical references for why we worship the way we
WE PRAY TOGETHER ALOUD
Acts 4:24 “They lifted up their voice in one accord.”

WE LIFT OUR HANDS IN PRAISE
Psalm 134:2 “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord.”

WE SING WITH ALL OUR HEARTS
Psalm 98:4″Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all the earth, make a loud noise and rejoice and sing praise.”

WE DANCE BEFORE THE LORD
Psalm 22:22 “Praise Him in the timbrel and dance: praise Him with the stringed instruments and organs.”

WE ANOINT WITH OIL AND PRAY FOR SICK
“Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”
